Every commission or city council member is different. Some are straight shooters; some would prefer to vote their conscience but can be persuaded otherwise; some are emotional; some are logical; and some are simply bought and paid for. But…there are very few elected officials who enjoy having their positions slaughtered in public. If a board or council will not willingly follow the facts, we have options.
Too many citizens try to explain the facts in detail…over and over and over again; not realizing that commissioners or council members may already know the facts and don’t care. Some elected officials will simply buckle under the strain of those who make the most noise, even if it means violating their oaths of office.
